Lady Monarchs Host Northeastern Monday Night In CAA Quarterfinal Game

NORFOLK, VA--The Old Dominion University Lady Monarch soccer squad (15-4/7-4) will be the fourth seed and host fifth seed Northeastern (9-5-4/5-3-3) Monday night at 7 p.m. in the CAA quarterfinals. The winner will meet 13th ranked William and Mary (16-1-2/10-0-1) Nov. 2 in the semi-finals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The 15 wins are a new school record.
In the other quarterfinal match third seed VCU (11-5-3/7-3-1) will host sixth seed James Madison (9-8-2/5-4-2). The winner will meet second seed UNCW in the semi-finals.
The Lady Monarchs are led by Katie Watson with 26 points on 11 goals and four assists. Shavon Knight is second with 23 points on nine goals and five assists. Lisa McKenzie is tied with Knight in assists with five. In the net, Lauren Tupman has a 1.05 goals against average in 16 matches, while Colby Owen has a 0.40 average in seven appearances. ODU defeated Northeastern, 2-1 back on Sept. 29th .
The semi finals are scheduled for Nov. 2 at 5 and 7:30 p.m. with the finals on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 4p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.
