Lady Monarch Tennis Upsets #63 Campbell

NORFOLK, VA -- The Old Dominion women's tennis team put together back-to-back victories for the first time since late March by handing #63 Campell University a 4-3 defeat despite defaulting No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles due to injury.
The victory improves the Lady Monarchs to 7-11 as they head into their regular season finale against George Mason on Sunday before taking to the court in the CAA Tournament. The Lady Camels drop to 10-4 overall.
Old Dominion captured the doubles points by taking the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. Junior Nataly Cahana and freshman Coralie Herrmann edged out Carmen Linder and Kerstin Stockinger at No. 1 doubles with a 9-8 victory, while freshman Kerstin Endlich and Julia Sotiriu teamed for a 8-6 win over Isabel Declercq and Psacale Veraverbeke at No. 2 doubles.
The Lady Monarchs went on to capture three of the singles matches for the victory. #22 Nataly Cahana played her way to a straight set No. 1 singles victory over Kerstin Stockinger, 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Kerstin Endlich upset #99 Carmen Linder at No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Freshman Verena Munzinger sealed the win for Old Dominion at No. 5 singles dropping just two sets. She defeated Lindsey Hughes, 6-2, 6-0.
The Lady Monarchs will return to action on Sunday when they close out the regular season against CAA rival George Mason.
