Lady Monarchs Win Fourth Straight CAA Game, Defeating Drexel 2-0

NORFOLK, VA -The Old Dominion women's soccer team won their fourth straight Colonial Athletic Association game Friday evening, defeating Drexel 2-0, at the ODU Soccer Stadium. Lisa McKenzie (Inverness, Scotland) and Meredith Worsley (Durham, NC) each scored first half goals to pace the Lady Monarchs, as they improve to 8-5-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the CAA. Drexel falls to 4-10-4 and 0-5-2 in the CAA.
Lisa McKenzie got the Lady Monarchs on the board early, scoring in the fourth minute of play, off a pass up the middle by Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA). Meredith Worsley (Durham, NC) extended the Monarch lead in the 23rd minute, off a Danielle Heusser (Hummelstown, PA) assist.
For the game, ODU had a 18-5 shot advantage and had the edge in corner kicks, 4-2. Senior Goalkeepers Kristen Bailey (Hamilton, VA) and Stephanie Miller (Plymouth Meeting, PA) each saved two shots en route to the shutout.
The Lady Monarchs host their final regular season home game Sunday, when they take on the Hofstra Pride at noon. Senior day festivities will take place before the game.
