ODU Takes on Alabama to Open Paradise Jam Tournament

ST. THOMAS, VIRGIN ISLANDS - Old Dominion University women's women's basketball is set to take on Alabama in the first game of the 2011 Paradise Jam Tournament on Thursday at 1 p.m. EST. ODU also faces Louisiana Tech on Friday and Seton Hall on Saturday.

Alabama comes into the contest with a 3-1 record, defeating Georgia Southern 67-34 Monday night. ODU is 0-4 on the young season after a 78-63 loss to Richmond on Sunday.

Tia Lewis leads ODU with 13.5 points per game and seven rebounds a game while freshman Ashley Betz-White is second on the team with 12.3 points a game. Betz-White leads all CAA freshman averaging 30 minutes a game and is the back-to-back winner of the CAA Rookie of the Week award.

Jasmine Robinson and Meghan Perkins each average 13 points per game for the Crimson Tide, as they have wins over Nicholls State, Northwestern State and Georgia Southern.
