Scully off To NCAA Qualifier; Worrell to Commonwealth Games

NORFOLK, VA-- Junior diver Noah Scully (Virginia Beach, VA/Salem) is heading to the campus of the University of Kentucky for the NCAA Regional Diving Qualifier taking place on Friday March 10 and Saturday the 11th. Scully qualified for the event after breaking the ODU 3-meter diving record with a score of 338.77 in a tri-meet with Radford and VMI on October 22nd. Scully will compete in 1-meter, 3-meter, and platform diving competition.
Freshman freestyle specialist Brad Worrell (Castries, St. Lucia) will represent his country at the prestigious Commonwealth Games that are taking place in Melbourne, Australia from March 15-26. Swimming events will be held beginning March 16 until the 21st. Worrell will be competing in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 freestyle for St. Lucia. The rookie also represented his country at the World Swimming Championships held in Montreal last July. Worrell's progress can be followed at www.melbourne2006.com.au/Channels/.
In addition, sophomore Patrik Balint (Budapest, Hungary) set another school record at the CAA Championships when he posted a time of 1:48.27 in the 200 backstroke, good enough for a 1st place finish at the tournament and a spot on the wall of school records at the J.C. Scrap Chandler pool. At the CAA's, Balint also smashed his own record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.20, breaking his former mark of 50.98.
