Field Hockey Nips Princeton, 2-1, In Overtime

Norfolk, Va. (Oct. 8) - The second-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team posted a 2-1 overtime win over #8 Princeton on Oct. 8 at Foreman Field on the campus of Old Dominion University.

With the win, Old Dominion improves to 13-1 overall (3-0 CAA) while Princeton falls to 5-2 overall.

Old Dominion struck first, taking a 1-0 lead with four seconds left in the first half behind an Angie Loy (Loysville, Pa.) goal and Tiffany Snow (Escondido, Calif.) assist. After Princeton tied the game with just over nine minutes to play in regulation, Old Dominion won the game at the 9:55 mark of overtime. Julie Miracle (Audubon, Pa.) netted the gamewinner with an assist going to Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina).

The Lady Monarchs will host Richmond on Oct. 14 at 1 pm before hosting top-ranked Maryland on Oct. 15 at 1 pm. Earlier this season, Maryland topped Old Dominion, 5-4 in overtime.
