Monarch Sailing Wins MAISA Women's Fall Intersectional

KING'S POINT, NY - The Old Dominion sailing team won the Middle Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association regatta at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in King's Point, NY, with 70 points. Saturday races were cancelled due to the high wind. ODU, with Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) and Christabelle Fernandez (Virginia Beach, VA), took first in A division with 17 points. In B division, Maureen Castruccio (Pleasanton, CA) and Rachel Wright (Rochester, NY) led ODU to a 6th place finish with 53 points. The top six finishers advanced to the Atlantic Coast Women's Championship next weekend at ODU. The Monarchs will also take place in the ACC Dinghy regatta at the NY Maritime in Bronx, NY.
