NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team will host #20 William & Mary in its final 2005 home game on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. The Lady Monarchs will honor their two seniors, defenders Cassandra Conner (Crozet, Va.) and Valerie Gooch (Charlottesville, Va.), prior to the beginning of the game.
The Tribe enters Wednesday's game with a 6-8 overall and 3-3 conference mark coming off of two losses last weekend at Towson and Delaware. William & Mary will be playing in their final road game looking to pick up its first win away from Williamsburg as the Tribe is 0-7 on the road.
Colleen Dalon, the conference's second leading scorer, leads the way for the Tribe having recorded 38 goals, 21 assists, and 59 points. Dalon is followed on the stat sheet by Morgan Watkins, who to date has registered 42 points from 27 goals and 15 assists. Watkins ranks 10th in the CAA goals, sixth in assists, and seventh in points. In between the pipes, the Lady Monarchs will be looking to get past Amanda Roth or Debby Patracca. Roth has seen a majority of the minutes this season while Patracca got the staring nod in four games this year, including the last game, a 13-8 loss at Delaware. Roth is posting a 10.93 goals against average and .408 save percentage, while her counterpart is holding a 11.40 goals against average and .381 save percentage.
The Lady Monarchs are looking to post their first victory since a 9-8 victory at Rutgers back on March 28th. Since their victory in Piscataway, Old Dominion has dropped their last seven contests which included a thrilling 9-8 double overtime loss at home against 2005 CAA regular season champion and then 10th-ranked Hofstra.
Following Wednesday's home finale, the Lady Monarchs will hit the road one more time traveling to #9 North Carolina on Saturday.
