Norfolk, Va. - As of today, Aug. 13 football is back at Old Dominion University for the first time since 1940 as 80 players reported for camp this morning at the new $17 million Powhatan Sports Complex.
The Monarchs checked into their rooms before afternoon meetings with interim president John Broderick, the ODU compliance staff and head coach Bobby Wilder. After a break for dinner, players returned for physicals, screening by the strength and conditioning staff and getting fitted for equipment.
Camp resumes tomorrow morning when the Monarchs will continue their work in the weight room, receive their equipment and take media headshots. The late morning will consist of team and segment meetings and the first official practice begins at 3 p.m. Practices are open to the media, but closed to the general public.
