Lady Monarchs Head to FDU For Final Non-Conference Game

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Lady Monarchs finish their three-game swing on the road with a game at Fairleigh Dickinson. It is the final game before conference play begins next Friday. The FDU game is set to kick-off at 3:00 pm in New Jersey on Friday, September 21. The Lady Monarchs are 3-1-1, while the Knights are 0-5.

The Lady Monarchs won the only meeting between the two programs, with the win coming a year ago in Norfolk. ODU is 4-1 against all Northeast Conference opponents.

In The Polls
Old Dominion was picked to finish third in the Colonial Athletic Association Pre-Season Coaches Poll. The team is also ranked 12th in the SOCCER BUZZ Magazine Mid-Atlantic Region Top 15.

Nationally Ranked
Shavon Knight is currently tied for 8th in the nation in goals per game. She's also tied at 14th in points per game with 2.20.

The team has the 23rd ranked scoring attack in the nation and boasts the 36th best team save percentage at .875.

Last Time Out
The Lady Monarchs went on the road for two games last weekend and came out with one win and one tie. ODU tied NC State 1-1 with both goals coming with one minute early in the first half. Lauren Tupman saved a career-high 13 shots on goal in the game to help seal the tie for Old Dominion. The team then traveled north to Liberty University and manhandled the Flames, 5-0. Shavon Knight added to her team-high in goals with two into the back of the net and Janna Pearson assisted on two goals for her league-high fourth on the season.
