Henley Leads Women's Soccer Over Sacred Heart, 4-1

Norfolk, VA-Old Dominion senior forward Jen Henley (Chalfont, PA) scored two goals and added an assist to pace the Lady Monarch soccer team to a 4-1 victory over visiting Sacred Heart this afternoon. Old Dominion is now 5-8-2 while Sacred Heart slips to 8-8.
Henley put in her first goal of the afternoon off a throw-in by fresman midfielder Maura Linz (Prospect, KY). The Pioneers answered in the 24th minute, when Danielle Robenhymer caught the ODU defense flat-footed and put in the equalizer to tie the game 1-1.
Old Dominion forward Diane Baucom (Va. Beach, VA) opened the second half with a score, taking a cross from teammate Melanie McGovern (Somerdale, NJ) and driving home a header at 55:09. Henley teamed up with Linz for another goal ten minutes later, then picked up her assist on the final score of the game. Meghan Cathcart (Williamsburg, VA) put in the final goal for Old Dominion, cleaning up a deflected shot from Henley. Senior Emily Becker (Va. Beach, VA) also received credit for the final assist.
With her five points this afternoon, Henley now has 103 career points and is the first player in the program's history to break 100 points. She currently has six goals and four assists in 2001.
Old Dominion will close out the regular season at home this Tuesday, when they take on William & Mary at 7 p.m.
