NORFOLK, Va. -- The NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee has selected the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams that will compete in the 2007 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championships and among them will be two members of the ODU men's tennis team. No. 29 Harel Srugo (Kibutz Gazit, Israel) and No. 55 Henrique Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) will compete in both the singles and doubles competition. In doubles, the Monarch duo is ranked at No. 15.

The singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 23-28 at Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Georgia, hosted by the University of Georgia, following the conclusion of the team championship (May 17-22).

Srugo, the two-time CAA Player of the Year, is 31-11 overall as ODU's top singles player. During the season he captured the Wilson/ITA Mideast Regional singles title, reached the quarterfinals of the ITA National Indoor Championships, the Round of 32 at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships, and was a quarterfinalist at the 39th Annual Southern Intercollegiates.

This will be Srugo's second appearance in the NCAA Tournament after advancing to the second round in singles and making a first round doubles appearance last season.

Cancado, a First Team All-CAA selection in singles and doubles, sports a 31-10 overall mark playing at No. 2 singles. He was a quarterfinalist at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships and was Wilson/ITA Mideast Regional Championship finalist falling to ODU teammate Srugo. It will mark his first NCAA Tournament appearance.

Together the top ODU doubles team of Srugo and Cancado collected a 26-7 record as they were quarterfinalists of the Southern Intercollegiates, semifinalists at the UVA Fall Classic, reached the main draw of the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Championships from the qualifying bracket and winning the consolation bracket of the main draw.
