Hatch Named First Team All-South Region

Division I All-Region Teams

NORFOLK, Va. - Three Old Dominion field hockey standouts were named to the 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-Region Team, it was announced Thursday.

Senior Loran Hatch was a first team selection, while classmate Sami Richardson and junior Kathryn Kirk were named to the second team.

Hatch, a First Team All-CAA selection, posted team-highs in both points (41) and goals (19) in 2010. The senior was also chosen as the CAA Defensive Player of the Year and the CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player.

Kirk, a Second Team All-CAA pick, netted 13 points on four goals and five assists during her junior campaign. Her double overtime goal against Drexel gave Old Dominion its 14th CAA Championship and propelled the Lady Monarchs into the 2010 NCAA Tournament.

Richardson anchored a Monarch defense that shutout seven opponents this season, including No. 11 Boston University during the regular season, No. 18 Drexel in the CAA title game and No. 8 Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Richardson was also selected to the CAA All-Tournament Team.

The 2010 Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-American Teams will be announced on Monday, November 22nd.
