ITA Women's Tennis Regional Results

BLACKSBURG, VA -- Senior Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel)advanced to the Round of 16 in singles while teaming up with sophomore Kerstin Endlich (Neustadt, Germany) in doubles to reach the Round of 32 in the latest results from the ITA Women's Tennis Regional held at Virginia Tech.
Cahana, the second seed in the tournament, received a first round bye and then proceeded to blank her opponent in her first court appearance. Cahana defeated Marta Bechliwanis of Virginia, 6-0, 6-0 in the Round of 64 and went on to defeat Lindsey Dynof of Boston University, 6-4, 6-1 in the Round of 32. In the Round of 16, Cahana will face the winner of the Carolina Stanislawski (Pennsylvania)/Ashley Lipton (Syracuse) match-up on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
In other singles action, sophomore Kerstin Endlich reached the Round of 64. Endlich opened with a three set, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, victory over Beatrice Grasu of Richmond before falling to the tournament's fifth seed, Eva Wang of Harvard, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0.
Cahana and Endlich have also teamed together in doubles play as the tournament's sixth seed. Together they defeated Boston University's tandem of deMendoza and Dynof in the first match, 8-2, to advance to the Round of 32. The Lady Monarch duo will face Columbia's doubles team of Kachar and Kim.
