Monarch Cagers Host University of Saskatchewan Wednesday Night

NORFOLK, VA-- The ODU Monarchs play host to the Huskies of the University of Saskatchewan Wednesday night at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. The exhibition game will begin at 7 p.m.

The Monarchs rank first by and second nationally by Mid Major poll. ODU picked up 16 votes in the USAToday/CNN poll as well as the Associated Press poll.

The Huskies played at William and Mary Tuesday night and will play at Virginia Tech on Friday. They are led by Andrew Spagrud, a 6-8 junior forward who is averaging 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Matt Greenberg, a 6-7 forward is averaging 11.2 points and 5.7 rebounds while Kevin Langdon, a 6-7 senior is averaging 10.3 points and 3.8 rebounds. Saskatchewan is averaging 76.8 points per game thus far in their Canadian Collegiate season. They are 8-4 overall, and were 25-13 last year.

Last week, ODU was again selected to win the CAA by the league's media and coaches. Alex Loughton was selected pre-season first team and Isaiah Hunter was named to the pre-season second team.

The ODU radio coaches call in show on ESPN1310 radio will begin on Monday, Nov. 14 5-6 p.m.with Blaine Taylor. His show will be every Monday and Wendy Larry's call in show will be every Tuesday from 5-6.

The Monarchs final exhibition game will be Saturday, Nov. 12 against the Trojans of Virginia State University. ESPN1310 radio will carry that game live.
