Monarch Men's Tennis Opens Fall Slate at William & Mary Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- Old Dominion men's tennis team members sophomores Calin Milos (Timisoara, Romania) and Niklas Oskarsson (Halmstad, Sweden) each picked up victories on the court in the first day of play at the William and Mary Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Both Monarchs defeated their opponents in straight sets with Milos defeating West Virginia's Alex Paschalides, 6-4, 7-5, in Flight 2 singles and Oskarsson defeating the Mountaineers' Eric Kochanski, 6-4, 6-1 in Fight 5 singles.
Although juniors Salman Mohammed (Calcutta, India) and Patrik Binkoski (Orby, Sweden) each fell in the first day of competition, each forced their opponent to three sets. Mohammed was defeated by WVU's Tony Epkey (0-6, 7-5, 6-0) in Flight 3 singles and Binkoski lost to WVU's Chris Green (4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (3)) in Flight 4 singles. Flight 1 singles participant sophomore Zoltan Csanadi (Timisoara, Romania) fell to Adam Marchetti of West Virginia in two sets, 6-3, 6-1.
The Monarchs will take to the court again on Sunday in the final day of competition.
