Lady Monarch Sailors Take Third at MAISA Districts

ST. MARY'S, MD.-- Old Dominion University's women sailors finished third in the MAISA (Mid Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association) district championships and have qualified for the ACC Championships at Hobart-Williams Smith in Geneva, NY, Nov. 13-14.

Both of the Lady Monarch boats finished third. Sailing in "A" division was Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI.) And Allison Calderbank (Clearwater, Fla.),while the "B" division boat was sailed by Katie Chechak (Rochester, NY.) and Liz Bower (Fairport, NY.).

St. Mary's College won the District title with 43 points, followed by Georgetown with 47 and Old Dominion with 66. The top seven teams advance to Nationals.
