RICHMOND, Va. - The field is set for the Virginia 529 2011 CAA Field Hockey Championship, which will be held November 3, 5 and 6 at Old Dominion's Powhatan Sports Complex in Norfolk, Va.

After sweeping through the CAA schedule with a perfect 8-0 record Old Dominion has earned the No. 1 seed and will play on its home field. The defending CAA champion Lady Monarchs, who are currently the No. 1 ranked squad in the NFHCA poll, boast an 18-2 overall record after losing to No. 2 ranked North Carolina Sunday afternoon.

Northeastern has earned the No. 2 seed after finishing the regular-season with a 5-3 mark in CAA play and 13-6 overall. After starting the conference slate 0-2, the Huskies rebounded with five-consecutive CAA wins and will be looking for their first-ever CAA field hockey title.

After missing last year's championship, Hofstra returns as the No. 3 seed. The Pride are 12-8 overall with a 5-3 record in CAA play. The No. 3 seed is the highest Hofstra has earned since it was the No. 3 team in the 2006 CAA Championship.

James Madison is the No. 4 seed with an 8-9 overall record and 4-4 mark in league play. The Dukes earned the tie-breaker for the fourth spot based on head-to-head wins over both No. 5 Delaware and No. 6 Towson. JMU will look to win its first CAA title since capturing three-straight crowns from 2006-08.

The Blue Hens of Delaware are the No. 5 seed, finishing at 9-10 overall and 4-4 in the CAA. After missing last year's championship, Delaware will look for its third CAA crown in school history, winning most recently in 2009.

Towson earns the No. 6 seed after upsetting Northeastern on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers finished the regular season with a 10-9 overall record and 4-4 mark in CAA play. It will be Towson's first CAA postseason play since 2008.

Admission to the CAA Championship is $5 for adults and $3 for youth 12 and younger. Students from the participating institutions will receive free admission with a college ID.
