NORFOLK, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association announced Tuesday that redshirt freshman Jerome Robinson has been named Rookie of the Week for the second time this season. An Old Dominion University wrestler has now been tabbed as Wrestler or Rookie of the Week for five consecutive weeks.

Robinson (Toledo, Ohio/St. Ignatius), ranked No. 28 by WrestlingReport.com this week, went 5-0 last week. The redshirt freshman got ODU started on Senior Night against North Carolina State with an upset of 23rd-ranked Coltin Fought, 10-3, to propel the Monarchs to a 34-3 victory in their home finale on Thursday. Over the weekend, Robinson won the Edinboro Open title at 125 pounds, going 4-0, and defeating Michigan State’s Eric Olanowski in the finals, 9-3.

Robinson also captured CAA Rookie of the Week honors back on Jan. 17. Redshirt sophomore John Nicholson (157) earned CAA Wrestler of the Week on Jan. 24 and Jan. 31 while sophomore Tristan Warner (165) took the award on Jan. 17 and Feb. 7. Back in November, senior Te Edwards (174) was named the CAA Wrestler of the Month while freshman Pete Baldwin (149) was tabbed as the CAA Rookie of the Month.

No. 23 Old Dominion returns to action on Friday at No. 19 Binghamton in their final CAA dual of the season. The Monarchs conclude the regular season with a match at No. 20 Virginia on Sunday.
