LADY MONARCH MOMENTS:
• Old Dominion closes out a the non-conference portion of its schedule on Friday against Mississippi. The Lady Monarchs enter the game with a 5-4 non-conference record and looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

• It has been 12 days since the Lady Monarchs were last in action, dropping a 74-65 contest to #15/16 Maryland back on December 21st at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Senior Tiffany Green and junior Jessica Canady both performed double-doubles. Green collected 20 points and 11 boards for her third double-double of the 2008-09 season. Canady poured in 10 points and 10 boards in her third double-double of the season.

• The Lady Monarchs and Lady Rebels have not met since the two teams faced each other in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament back in 1989. Ole Miss ended ODU's dancing with a 74-58 victory.

• Friday's contest will be the fourth meeting between ODU and Ole Miss. Three of the four meetings have occurred in Oxford.

• Following Friday's contest with the Lady Rebels, the Lady Monarchs begin the "new" season hosting Virginia Commonwealth in the Colonial Athletic Association opener in a rematch of last year's CAA Championship game on Monday, January 5th.

ABOUT OLE MISS:
Mississippi enters Friday's contest with a 10-4 overall mark, winners in three of their last four games. The Lady Rebels, who return four starters and six letterwinners from last year's 13-16 squad, opened the year rattling off seven straight wins. Texas, who defeated the Lady Monarchs in the third game of the season, 78-44, snapped the win-streak with a 74-50 victory in Oxford. The Lady Rebels are led by senior center junior guard Shawn Goff at 14.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Bianca Thomas checks in as the Lady Rebels second leading scorer at 12.3 points per contest.

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH OLE MISS:
Friday will mark the fourth meeting between the Lady Monarchs and Lady Rebels with Old Dominion leading the all-time series, 2-1. The two squads have not met since the Lady Rebels stopped ODU's NCAA Tournament run in 1989 in the second round with a 74-58 victory in Oxford.

ODU VS. THE SEC:
Old Dominion holds a 28-43 all-time mark against teams from the SEC, with 42 of those meetings coming against Tennessee. Last season, the Lady Monarchs went 2-1 against the SEC, which included a pair of back-to-back road victories - a 71-62 win at Kentucky and an 80-65 win at #21/20 Vanderbilt.

NON-CONFERENCE COMES TO A CLOSE:
Old Dominion has one more non-conference game left on its slate in its road trip to Ole Miss. The Lady Monarchs are currently 5-4 in non-conference action going 3-2 at home, 0-2, on the road, and 2-0 in neutral site action. The Lady Monarch's last win on the road (in a non-neutral court setting) was last season with a 80-65 victory in Nashville over #20/21 Vanderbilt on December 30th, 2007.

NON-CONFERENCE ENDS AT THE TED:
The Lady Monarchs closed out non-conference action at the Constant Center with a 74-65 setback to #15/16 Maryland in their last outing back on December 21st. Old Dominion finished the 2008-09 season at 3-2 in non-conference action at the Ted Constant Convocation Center with wins over #16/11 Virginia, Norfolk State, and Saint Joseph's, and losses to #11/13 Tennessee and #15/16 Maryland.

LOSSES IN-A-ROW:
Old Dominion fell in back-to-back games (#11/13 Tennessee and #15/16 Maryland) for the first time since dropping contests to top-ranked UConn (86-43) and #4 and national runner-up Stanford (69-61) during the Paradise Jam last Thanksgiving in St. Thomas. Old Dominion dropped back-to-back home games for the first time since falling three straight to Florida International (80-76) on December 21st 2005, #5 North Carolina in overtime (88-80) on December 29th, 2005 and top-ranked Tennessee (83-67) on January 2nd, 2006.
