Arni Arnason Named CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion's Arni Arnason (Mosfellsbaer, Iceland) earned Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimmer of the Week honors for the second time this season it was announced on Tuesday by the conference office.
Arnason won three individual (100 & 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley) and was a member of a pair of first place relay teams in helping the Monarchs to wins over William & Mary and George Mason at the annual CAA Pod meet this past weekend.
Arnason was one of three pod meet swimmers to race in the 100 breaststroke in under a minute with his top time of 54.73. In the 200 breaststroke, he was the only competitor under the two-minute mark hitting the wall with a time of 1:58.38. The two-time CAA Swimmer of the Year also collected a first place time of 1:50.74 in the 200 individual medley.
In relay action, he was a member of the 200 medley relay team that took first place swimming to a time of 1:32.64 and the 400 medley relay squad that clocked in with a first place time of 3:27.20.
The Old Dominion swimming and diving teams return to action November 17-18th at the Nike Cup in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
