Lady Monarch Tennis Shuts Out JMU 7-0

ORLANDO, FL- The Old Dominion University women's tennis squad swept conference foe James Madison 7-0 on Thursday in Orlando. ODU is now 8-3 and 3-1 in the CAA, having won four of their past five matches. Old Dominion won all nine matches that took place in the contest.

Kerstin Endlich (Neustadt, Germany), Charleen Haarhoff (Durban, South Africa), Fernanda Luiz (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) , Larissa Santos (Florianopolis, Brazil), Linda Garder (Tallinn, Estonia), and Barbara Kerner (Landaulpf, Germany) all won their matches in straight sets. Haarhoff, a freshman, won from the No. 2 spot 6-1, 6-0 over Mary Napier while Fernanda Luiz scored 6-0, 6-1 over Anna Khorr.

In doubles action, the team of Luiz and Haarhoff won their match 8-2, Endlich and Garder won 8-1, and the Barbara's (Kerner and Costa) took their match 8-3 over their adversaries. The Lady Monarchs return to action on Friday as they take on Stetson at 2:30 p.m. in Deland, Florida.
