Top-Ranked Lady Monarchs Topple Richmond, 9-1; Increase Win Streak to 14

RICHMOND, Va. (Oct. 21, 2000) -- The top-ranked Old Dominion field hockey team posted a 9-1 win over Richmond Saturday afternoon at Crenshaw Field on the campus of the University of Richmond. With the win, Old Dominion improves to 16-1 overall (4-0 CAA) while Richmond falls to 7-10 overall (1-3 CAA).

Honda Award hopeful Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina) led the scoring attack with four goals and an assist in the win. Four other Lady Monarch players broke into the scoring column with Laura Steadman (Virginia Beach, Va.) collected a pair of goals and Adrienne Yoder (Coopersburg, Pa.) adding a pair of assists. The Lady Monarchs will finish off their regular season conference slate with a game at #14 James Madison tomorrow at 1 pm.
