Field Hockey Defeats Boston University, 6-5

The defending national champion Old Dominion field hockey team topped #14 Boston University, 6-5, Saturday afternoon at Old Dominion University's Foreman Field. The #6 Lady Monarchs improve to 8-3 overall (4-0 CAA) while the Terriers fall to 7-2 overall (4-0 America East).

Freshman forward Tiffany Snow (Escondido, Calif.) led the attack with a pair of goals and an assist while junior Marina DiGiacomo (Mendoza, Argentina) chipped in with two goals.

Old Dominion jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before Boston cut it in half. Exchanging goals for the rest of the first half, the Lady Monarchs found themselves up 4-3 at intermission. The Terriers tied the game at 5-5 before DiGiacomo netted the game winner on a penalty corner with just over four minutes to play.

The Lady Monarchs will take host St. Joseph's Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.
