Laura Beeman Named CAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week
Sept. 26, 2005
RICHMOND, VA - Senior forward Laura Beeman (Chalfont, PA) was named the Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer player of the week for the week ending October 2. This is the second year in a row Beeman has been named CAA Player of the Week.
Beeman scored four goals as Old Dominion extended its winning streak to five with victories over Elon (2-0) and Wyoming (5-1) last week. She scored both Lady Monarch goals over a 1:07 span of the first half against Elon and converted a pair of penalty kicks in the win over Wyoming. Beeman leads the CAA with nine goals and 19 points this season, and with 30 all-time career goals, is just 4 goals away from taking second place for most career goals in the ODU women's soccer record book.
The win over Wyoming advanced the Lady Monarchs to a 7-1-0 record, the best record in the history of the program. ODU will entertain fellow CAA member UNC-W on Friday September 30, at 7:00pm, then travel to Georgia State on Sunday October 2.
