Women's Lcarosse Adds Nine for 2011

NORFOLK, Va. - Old Dominion University women's lacrosse added nine student-athletes for the 2011 season, including four from Pennsylvania, three from Maryland and one apiece from Virginia, Delaware and New York.

Emily Austerberry, Caleigh Banker, Theresa Brady, Courtney Clough, Julie Falk, Stephenie Hanson, Emma Kriss, Kallie McCormick and Alex McGovern joined the Lady Monarchs in the fall.

Emily Austerberry (MF • Barto, Pa./Boyertown)

Austerberry was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and soccer at Boyertown. She earned Rookie of the Year honors as well as was a two-time all-area performer. She helped lead her team to a 19-2 record as a senior and four-straight conference championships.

Caleigh Banker (MF • Glen Arm, Md./Loch Raven)

Banker was a four-year letterwinner in lacrosse and soccer at Loch Raven. She played defense and midfield in lacrosse and midfield and forward in soccer.

Theresa Brady (A/MF • Wayne, Pa./Conestoga)

Brady was a four sport athlete at Conestoga, earning letters in lacrosse, soccer, basketball and field hockey. She earned the coaches award and E. Morgan Kelley Award for lacrosse.

Courtney Clough (MF • Baldwin, Md./Fallston)

A four-year letterwinner, Clough earned second-team all-conference honors while playing attack and midfield. She was also a three-year letterwinner in field hockey, earning second-team all-conference honors.

Julie Falk (A • Millersville, Pa./Penn Manor)

Falk set Penn Manor records for goals and assists in a season and a career. She was a three-year letterwinner, earning All-Lancaster-Lebanon League honors and was named team MVP. Falk was also a four-year letterwinner on the Comets' basketball team, leading the league in three-pointers.

Stephenie Hanson (D • Annadale, Va./Chapel Hill (N.C.)

A four-year letterwinner in lacrosse, Hanson was a 2009 Academic All-American and participated in the 2010 National Tournament.

Emma Kriss (A/MF • Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side)

Kriss was a four-year high school letterwinner at South Side in lacrosse, basketball and soccer. She earned lacrosse Rookie of the Year, was a two-time winner of the Hustle Award, the Impact Player Award and earned all-conference honors. She was also solid academically, earning several honors including being a member of the National Honor Society.

Kallie McCormick (D/MF • Wilmington, Del./Brandywine)

A four-year letterwinner in lacrosse, field hockey and basketball, McCormick was a four-time all-conference and three-time first-team all-state performer. She was also a member of the National Honor Society.

Alex McGovern (A • Baltimore, Md./Towson HS)

McGovern earned all-division honors twice at Towson High School. She was a four-year letterwinner in both lacrosse and field hockey. She also earned a spot on the Baltimore County All-Academic team.
