NORFOLK, VA -- Two-time All-American women's tennis player Nataly Cahana (Quriat Balik, Israel) was ranked #11 in the preseason edition of the Omni Hotels Collegiate Tennis Rankings, released Monday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

The CAA Co-Player of the Year, Cahana finished the 2001-02 season ranked #11 with an 18-2 dual meet record. She ranked fourth at the NCAA Women's Individual Tennis Championship, where she advanced to the second round of play. Last fall, Cahana reached the final of the Riviera All-American Championships and the quarterfinals of both the National Intercollegiate indoor Championships and the Eastern Region Championship.

Tennessee's Vilmarie Castellvi was voted No. 1 in singles poll. A senior, she finished at #4 in last season's singles rankings while advancing to the NCAA singles quarterfinals and helping the Lady vols to the semifinals of the NCAA team tournament.

The first of three national championship tournaments for the 2002-03 take place next month with the Rivera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, CA, taking on place Oct. 10-13.

The preseason team rankings come out in January, 2003. The complete preseason top 100 singles and top 50 doubles can be found at
