NORFOLK, Va. -- Rookie skipper Zach Kelchner and sophomore crew Ashley Pellerito won A division at the ODU Open to lead Old Dominion to a third place finish in the shortened regatta this weekend. The tandem finished with two wins, two seconds and two thirds for 12 total points in the six completed races.

Kelchner and Pellerito never finished outside the top three boats and edged eventual winner, Vermont, by one point in the division.

In B division, Miles Martschink and Gavin Rudolph combined with Arielle Darrow for a fourth place finish and 29 total points. The young team had three straight fifth place finishes to start the regatta and concluded with a third place effort.
