Anna Tunnicliffe Wins MAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship

NORFOLK, VA (Oct. 5, 2003) - Anna Tunnicliffe (Perrysburg, OH) won the MAISA Women's Singlehanded Championship Sunday with 62 points. The win allows her to attempt to defend her ICSA Women's Singlehanded Championship Nov. 21-23 in St. Petersburg, FL. Maureen Castruccio (Pleasanton, CA) finished sixth with 181 points, Cara DiSanti (Seacliff, NY) finished 19th with 361 points and Rachel Wright (Rochester, NY) finished 23rd with 406 points.

ODU also finished 15th in the Danmark Trophy at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. Jack Kerr (Redmond, WA), Cara Gibbons-Neff (Annapolis, MD) and Michael Smith (Newport News, VA) earned 198 points in Division A. Bill Berg (Longwood, FL), Rebecca Legge (Yorktown, VA) and Adam Bennett (Stony Brook, NY) finished with 232 points in B division.
