Swimming And Diving Host Towson In Final Meet Before CAA Championships

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Monarch and Lady Monarch swimmers return to the pool for their final dual meet of the season prior to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships when they host Towson on Sunday at Norfolk State. It will be the final meet in Norfolk for Monarch and Lady Monarch seniors.
Following its lone loss of the season, a setback to seven-time CAA defending champion UNC-Wilmington, the Old Dominion men's squad has put four straight into the win column. The Monarchs enter Saturday's competition with a 9-1 record coming off three wins in last week's quad meet with Army, American, and CAA member George Mason. The Monarchs won eight events, including four by four-time CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week, Arni Arnason with three individual and a relay win.
Towson's men's squad enters the meet with a 1-10 mark. The Tigers' victories lone victory came against Howard.
The Old Dominion women's swimming and diving team, meanwhile, enters the pool with 9-6 mark having also swept last weekend's quad meet with Army, American, and George Mason as they won seven events along the way. Additionally, the Lady Monarchs picked up a victory over Steven's Tech. The Lady Monarchs have won six straight since coming off its December training trip.
The Towson's women's squad, winners of last year's CAA Championship, are 12-1 overall with their lone loss to the ACC's Maryland. They also placed first at the Bucknell Invitational earlier in the season.
