Monarchs Take Second At Pinehurst

PINEHURST, NC-- Senior Eric Onesi (Bear, DE.) fired a final round 67 for a 218 score and third place at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate Tournament. As a team, the Monarchs finished second just four strokes behind the tournament champion Virginia Tech.
Onesi came in to the final round tied for 35th, but he finished with four birdies on the back nine to come within five shots of the tournament champion, Robert Hoadely of UNC Greensboro.
Saturday's co-leader Sam Wall(Essex, England) shot 78 to finish at 219 tied with fellow Monarch Neil Henderson (North Berwick, Scotland) for sixth. Henderson shot 74 today.
The Monarchs return to action, March 19-21 at the Furman Intercollegiate.
