Pairings Set For The 2007 CAA Men's Tennis Championships

RICHMOND, Va.- The pairings are set for the 2007 CAA Men's Tennis Championship, which will be held April 19-22 at the Huntington Park Tennis Center in Newport News, Va.

This year's championship should be one of the most competitve in league history with four CAA teams among the top 47 in the nation in the latest ITA rankings. Defending champion VCU is ranked #29, Old Dominion is #30, William & Mary is #31 and Georgia State is #47.

The men's tournament gets underway with a pair of first-round matches on Thursday afternoon as #7 Delaware meets #10 George Mason and #8 Hofstra faces #9 Drexel at 2 p.m.

Quarterfinal action begins on Friday with #4 Georgia State taking on #5 UNC Wilmington at 9 a.m., followed by #1 VCU against the Hofstra/Drexel winner at 11:30. Second-seeded Old Dominion faces the Delaware/George Mason victor at 2 p.m., followed by #3 William & Mary against #6 James Madison at 4:30 p.m.

Both semifinal matches will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, with the championship set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.

April 19 - First Round
#7 Delaware vs. #10 George Mason - 2 p.m.
#8 Hofstra vs. #9 Drexel - 2 p.m.

April 20 - Quarterfinals
#4 Georgia State vs. #5 UNC Wilmington - 9 a.m.
#1 VCU vs. Hofstra/Drexel winner - 11:30 a.m.
#2 Old Dominion vs. Delaware/Mason winner - 2 p.m.

April 21 - Semifinals
GSU/UNCW winner vs. VCU/Hofstra-Drexel winner - 1 p.m.
ODU/Delaware-Mason winner vs. W&M/JMU winner - 1 p.m.

April 22 - Championship
Men's Championship Match - 1 p.m.
