Carlos Davis

Wide Receiver

Ft. Washington, Md.

When did you begin playing football?

I started playing football when I was 5 years old.

Who has had the greatest impact on your career?

My father has had the greatest impact on my career because he has always pushed me to be the best I can be.

Why did you choose to attend ODU?

I chose to attend ODU because I was excited about being on the first team and because of the bond that was there between me, my family and the coaches.

What has been the biggest difference between high school football and college football?

The biggest difference between high school football and college football has been the amount of time you have to put into football... Football in college is 24/7.

What has been the best part about being a member of ODU's first football team in over 60 years?

The best part is being recognized as one of the first to be on ODU's roster in 60 years.

If you could play another position, what would it be and why?

Quarterback, because he has the most important job and the hardest one.

Favorite sports other than your own?

Basketball and track.

After meeting Coach Wilder for the first time, what were your thoughts?

After meeting Coach Wilder I thought he was a very down to earth guy. I felt like he cared about school work more than football. I thought he was very dedicated to this sport and our football team.

After meeting Coach Malloy for the first time, what were your thoughts?

After meeting Coach Malloy, I thought we had a lot in common. I knew I would have a good time learning from him and being under his guidance throughout my years at ODU.

Do you have a pre-game ritual, if so what is it?

I mostly get organized, think about the game in general, go through my assignments, and zone out while listening to my music.

What is your funniest memory from an ODU practice thusfar?

My funniest memory is when Coach Cotton and Coach Scott race down the field when we are doing special teams.

If you could line up opposite any player in the NFL and go 1-on-1, who would it be and why?

I would go against Champ Bailey because I feel that he is the best corner in the game right now and I would like to see where my skills are going against the best.

What song is stuck in your head right now?

My Life by the Game and Lil Wayne.

What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

One thing people would be surprised to learn about me is that I can sing.

What is your dream job?

To get paid to play the sport I love.... Football.

What is your most valued possession?

My state championship ring and jacket.

What is your favorite place to eat on campus?

Del Vecchios pizza subs and catering.
