NORFOLK, VA-- Old Dominion (2-3) defeated the Spiders of Richmond (4-3), 65-62 tonight at the Ted Constant Convocation Center. Red shirt sophomore Keyon Carter (Riviera Beach, FL.) led the Monarchs with his first career double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. The win ended ODU's three-game losing streak.

ODU jumped out to a 39-26 halftime lead as the Monarchs shot .531 (17-32) from the field and outrebounded the Spiders, 21-11. Both Carter and Gerald Lee had six rebounds each at halftime. The Spiders who shot .417 (10-24) in the first half were led by David Gonzalvez with 16 points on six-for-nine shooting.

In the second half, ODU led by 16 at 41-25 with 19:19 left and by 14 with 10:38 left at 50-36.
