No. 25 ODU To Host N.C. State Tuesday At The Ted

NORFOLK, Va. - The No. 25 Old Dominion wrestling team will take on Atlantic Coast Conference opponent N.C. State Tuesday at the Ted Constant Convocation Center at 7:00 p.m.

Old Dominion (8-4-1) is ranked in two national polls, checking in at No. 25 according to Intermat and No. 22 by WIN.

Three Monarchs are ranked in the top-15 nationally, including No. 7 James Nicholson. The redshirt junior, who is a remarkable 25-1 on the year, is coming off an impressive 3-1 decision over No. 10 Matt Steintrager of Central Michigan.

No. 12 Jesse Strawn and No. 13 Chris Brown were also victorious against the Chippewas. The duo is tied for the most wins on the team with 26 apiece, with Strawn leading the squad in pins (10) and Brown posting the most major decisions (8).

N.C. State enters Tuesday with a 5-9 overall mark. Sophomore 149-pounder Bobby Ward leads the Wolfpack with a 22-6 overall record and a 16-3 mark at 149. He has won nine consecutive matches and 10 of his last 11. Freshman 141-pounder Dale Shull enters Thursday at 14-10 overall and has won three of his last four matches.
