ST.LUCIE, FL-- Sophomore Deztany Jackson (Ft. Washington, MD.) tied for third in the independent division of the 21st annual PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships at the PGA Golf Club -Ryder Course. Jackson finished the 54-hole event at 251, tied with Maria Urquiola of Bethune-Cookman.

Jackson shot a 87, 81 and 83 for her 251 score. Georgette Rollo of Texas Southern was the champion at 241, Sara Young of Florida State also shot 241.

This event is open to students who are of African American, Hispanic American, Native or Alaskan American, Asian, or Pacific Island-American. There are four divisions; Division I, II, NAIA men and women, and Independent.
