Monarch Wrestlers Finish Seventh at Mat Town

Rusak Finishes Third At 165

LOCK HAVEN, PA (December 1) -- Old Dominion's wrestling team finished in seventh-place at the illustrious Mat Town Tournament today at Lock Haven University. Four Monarchs placed in their weight division, led by sophomore Jeff Rusak's (Reading, PA) third-place finish at 165.

Rusak won four bouts and finished third after falling to eventual division winner Clint Wattenberg (Cornell) in the bracket semi's. Rusak picked up two pins in the process to move his season total to seven in just 11 bouts.

Senior Chip Reyes (Virginia Beach, VA) won two matches to finish in sixth-place at 125, while junior Alex Plasencia (Disputanta, PA) also won two matches, including the deciding consolation bout with a pin, to finish seventh at 174.

Junior Leevi MacDonald (Norfolk, VA) finished in eighth-place in the heavyweight division after winning one bout.

The Monarchs return to action this weekend as they travel to State College, PA, to participate in the Penn State Open on Sunday, Nov. 5th.
