Field Hockey Heads Into Tournament 10th In STX/NFHCA Poll, Ninth In Women's Field Hockey.Com Poll

NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion field hockey team heads into the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament this weekend ranked 10th in the STX/NFHCA Coaches Poll and ninth in the Women's Field Hockey.Com Poll.

The Lady Monarchs enter the post-season with a 11-8 overall mark coming off a loss at the hands of undefeated and top-ranked North Carolina and a shutout victory at William & Mary last weekend.

In all, Old Dominion has faced four of the top five teams featured in the STX/NFHCA Poll and eight members of the top 20 in both polls.

Only one other member of this weekend's tournament field is ranked in the polls. James Madison, who will be the number two seed at this weekend's tournament, is ranked eighth in the STX/NFHCA Coaches Poll and 13th in the Women's Field Hockey.Com Poll.

Top-seeded Old Dominion will begin CAA Tournament action in the semifinals on Saturday, November 3rd when the team will take on the winner of the Northeastern/Towson contest at 12 p.m.. No. 2 James Madison will battle the winner of the Drexel/Hofstra match at 2:30 p.m. The championship game is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday.
