Clement Leads MAISA Women's Districts

ANNAPOLIS, MD (Sept. 30) - Old Dominion University sophomore skipper Corrie Clement (Metairie, LA.) leads the MAISA Women's Singlehanded race by one point over Alli Sharp of St. Mary's College. In the MAISA Sloop District Championships, the Monarchs third ranked coed squad is in second just four points behind Hobart-William Smith College. The final races for both events will be Oct. 1.

The top four in the Women's Singlehanded will qualify to the Collegiate National Championships in Seattle, WA. The top two in the MAISA Sloops will qualfiy for the National Championships in St. Louis, MO.

Sally Barkow (Nashotah, WI.) Is in third with seven points, while Debbie Capozzi (Bayport, NY.), and Jessica Simpson (Ontario, Canada) are tied for fourth with 17 points in the Women's Singlehanded. The MAISA Sloop squad consists of Adam Burns (Youngstown, NY.), Justin Castagne (Trinadad, West Indies), Brock Callen (Martha's Vineyard, MA.) and Ted Anderson.
