Pierre Greene Named CAA Player of the Week

NORFOLK, VA. (Jan. 8, 2001) -- Old Dominion University junior guard Pierre Greene (Chicago, IL.) was named Player of the Week by the Colonial Athletic Association. The 6-2 guard (Simeon HS) scored a career high 25 points against American last Saturday night and 19 against James Madison. Greene has scored 19 or more points in five of the last six Monarch games.

Through 15 games Greene leads the Monarchs in scoring at 13.7 points and is shooting .500 (73-146) from the field. He is second on the team in free throw percentage at .737 and in assists at 3.6. In all, Greene has led Old Dominion in scoring nine of 15 games. His CAA average through three games is 18.3 and he is shooting .605 from the floor.

Old Dominion(6-9/2-1), winners of five of their last seven games hosts CAA rival William and Mary Wednesday night in Scope at 7:35 p.m.
