ODU Falls To #15 Wake Forest, Yet Monarchs Earn Key Doubles Win

Norfolk, Va. - The Old Dominion University men's tennis team could only muster one doubles win and one singles victory on Sunday against 15th ranked Wake Forest, as the Monarchs fell 6-1 at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center. However, the doubles victory came against one of the top duos in the country.

Playing against the nation's 21st ranked doubles team in Wake Forest's Cory Parr and Steven Forman, the Monarchs' tandem of Rodrigo Souza and Tobias Fanselow came away with a 9-8 decision at the No. 2 doubles position. With the win the ODU duo stayed perfect at 6-0 on the year.

In singles play the Deamon Deacons won three of their five matches in straight sets. The Monarchs sole victory came courtesy of Yakov Diskin's 4-6, 7-6 (6), 1-0 (10-8) win over Andrew Brasseaux at the No. 5 position.
