Sailing Prepared for the Truxton Umsted

NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion University coed sailing team returns to Maryland this weekend for a pair of events including the prestigous Truxton Umsted Team Race in Annapolis.

One of the biggest highlights on their spring schedule, the Truxton Umsted features sailing team from around the country and will take place in Annapolis and hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy.

The St. Mary's Women's Intersectional will also take place this weekend, hosted by St. Mary's College. Last weekend at the Navy's Women's Intersectional, the Lady Monarchs finished 18th behind competition from skippers Corina Radtke and Andrea Luna and crew members Jordan Stock, Shannon Wilkins, Arianna Baker and Jessica Milligan.

In team race sailing last weekend, ODU went 6-12 at the St. Mary's College team race behind skippers Gavin Rudolph, Zachary Runci,  Scott Hoffmann and Brady Stagg. The crew consisted of Emily ReichMiles Martschink, Julia Wiesner and Jill Fattibene.

ODU returns to action at home next weekend when they host their biggest even of the spring season in the Aaron Szambecki Team Race on March 24-25.
