NORFOLK, Va. - With just a little over two weeks remaining before the start of their 2012 season, the Old Dominion University Lacrosse team continues to provide their time and effort throughout the community.

In the last week, the Lady Monarchs participated in the The Norfolk Emergency Shelter Team (N.E.S.T.) and their efforts to provide for the area's homeless. It is an annual city-wide volunteer organization that provides shelter, food, and care for the homeless community from Thanksgiving through Easter.

The Lady Monarchs helped work with approximately 50 men and women, with nowhere else to go, by preparing warm meals and clearning areas for them to rest. N.E.S.T. is staffed by over 168 volunteers each week who greet, serve, and spend time with the homeless.

ODU begins their 2012 season on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. at the Powhatan Sports Complex when they take on Louisville.
