Kent Bazemore Named One of the Nation's Top 20 Defenders By ESPN.COM

NORFOLK, has selected Old Dominion University junior guard Kent Bazemore (Kelford, NC) as one of the nation's top 20 defenders.

Bazemore tied for first in the CAA with a 1.9 steals per game average and a total of 67 for the entire season. The complete list is on this link:

Bazemore had a season high of six steals in a game against Georgia State and four in a game against Towson, Drexel, Delaware and Northeastern.

Last year, Bazemore was named to the CAA's All-Defensive squad, All-American Defensive team and the CAA All-Tournament squad.

Bazemore averaged 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game in 36 games played. He helped lead the Monarchs to a 27-9 record, the CAA regular season and tournament championship as well as the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Monarchs will preview the 2010-11 season on Oct. 23rd with the annual Blue-White scrimmage at 12 noon.
