WILMINGTON, N.C. - After a scoreless first half UNC Wilmington took control with a goal early in the second half and never let up en route to a 5-0 win over Old Dominion University women's soccer Sunday afternoon in Wilmington.

UNCW held a 13-2 shot advantage at the break but couldn't get anything past ODU keeper Laura Bush until Maddie McCormick got UNCW on the board in the 52nd minute as she dribbled the ball off the left side and fired a shot into the lower left side of the goal from 18 yards out.

In the 56th minute McCormick got a deep pass down the left side and sent in a cross pass to Stephanie Bronson who sent a shot just inside the right post to give the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage.

Stephanie Rose gave UNCW a 3-0 lead in the 61st minute on a penalty kick.

Nicole Costa pushed the Seahawks lead to 4-0 in the 65th minute off a cross pass from Lindsey Byrne.

UNCW added another goal in the 79th minute on an unassisted goal from Ali Nagle.

ODU's best chance came off a Devin Dougherty corner kick that was headed just over the goal by Amber Cook.

Laura Bush stopped a career-best 10 shots for ODU while Caitlin Hunter made two stops for UNCW.

ODU is back in action on Thursday, Oct. 11 when they return home to face Drexel.
