Six Tennis Monarchs Earn All CAA Honors

RICHMOND, VA. (April 13) - Six Old Dominion University tennis players were named to the All-CAA Tennis squad, five on the first team. Senior Patrick Boza (Lima, Peru )and his doubles teammate Hieronymus Rodriguez (Lima, Peru) along with the doubles team of Alex Cancado (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and his doubles partner Nikola Laca (Zagreb, Croatia) along with women's standout Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia) were first team All-CAA selections by the league's coaches. On the second team was sophomore Mily Kannarkat (Va. Beach, Va.).

Boza and Rodriguez are currently ranked 28th in the nation and have compiled a 13-3 doubles record. Cancado and Laca are 7-5 on the season. On the women's side, Anna Radeljevic is 16-4 overall and 7-0 in the CAA, while Kannarkat is 14-5 overall and 5-1 in CAA matches. Cancado, 15-4 in singles is a second team All-CAA selection in singles, while Boza at 16-3, 5-1 in the CAA is a first team pick.

Both teams open the CAA Tournament on Friday. The Monarchs rank 64th nationally and have a 15-7 record. The Lady Monarchs are 10-10. The Lady Monarchs play American at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Richmond's Westhampton's courts.
