Mark Waite Leaves ODU To Become Beach FC Dir. oF Coaching

NORFOLK, VA--Mark Waite, an assistant coach for the Old Dominion University men's soccer program the past 12 years has resigned that position to become the Boys Director of Coach for Beach FC.

"Mark has been an integral part of the success of Old Dominion men's soccer for the past 12 years, " said ODU head coach Alan Dawson. " We will miss his energy, commitment, and passion for the program and will always consider him part of our Monarch Soccer family. We wish him and Caroline the very best of luck in their newest pursuit as a family."

As an assistant at ODU, the Monarchs captured the 2007 CAA championship, three regular season CAA Titles, six straight NCAA tournament appearances, three straight NCAA tournament second round appearances as well as twice reaching the round of 16.

In all, seven Monarchs earned All-American honors, four were selected in the MLS draft, three were named Academic All-Americans and one freshman All-American.

The native of Grimsley, England, Waite graduated from Lock Haven in 1994 with a bachelor's degree in Health sciences and also holds a masters degree in communications from Bloomsburg University. He and Wife Caroline have one son, Charlie, born in June of 2008.
