Norfolk, VA-Virginia Tech's Kim Wycoff scored the only goal of the game today off an assist from teammate Kathy Holdsworth as the Hokies held on to defeat Old Dominion, 1-0. With the loss, ODU drops to 3-5-1 on the season, while Virginia Tech improves to 4-4-2.

Old Dominion held a 11-6 edge in shots, but had a hard time getting past Hokie goalie Katie Hancock, who made five saves on the afternoon. The Lady Monarchs best chance to tie the game came at the 25 minute mark, when forward Jen Henley (Chalfont, PA) stole the ball in the Hokie backfield and sent a shot past Hancock to the far post. Henley's shot went just a few inches wide, however, and ODU didn't get another clear look at the goal for the remainder of the game.

Old Dominion will be on the road for their next four games. The Lady Monarchs will travel to future CAA foe Delaware on the 10th, followed by a trip to West Virginia on the 14th.
