Cahana Eliminated in Quarterfinals at Rolex National Indoor Championships

FARMERS BRANCH, Texas -- After the second day of competition at the Rolex National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by Southern Methodist University at the Brookhaven Country Club near Dallas, Old Dominion freshman Nataly Cahana (Qiriat Bialik, Israel) advanced through to the quarterfinal round of singles play. She was toppled in the quarterfinals.

Fourth-ranked Cahana collected two wins before being eliminated. She dropped just three matches in a 6-0, 6-3 second round win over Dee Dee Herring of SMU. In her first two matches, Cahana had dropped just seven games and was not forced to three sets. In the quarterfinal round, however, she was eliminated by Duke's Kathy Sell in a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 barnburner.

The doubles tandem of Cahana and Ana Radeljevic (Zagreb, Croatia) was eliminated with a quarterfinal round lost to Brigham Young-Hawaii's Petra Gaspar and Tagifano So'onalole, 6-1, 6-3.
