Toni Bickford is in the midst of her seventh season as Associate Head Coach of the ODU women's tennis program in 2017-18.
The National Iowa Varsity Club and the University of Iowa Athletics Department announced that Bickford will be inducted into their Hall of Fame in September of 2017. Bickford enjoyed an outstanding career as a student-athlete at Iowa, becoming the first four-time All-Big Ten honoree. She was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1999 and earned two NCAA Tournament bids in doubles and as a senior was the first ever Iowa women's tennis player to earn a trip to the NCAA singles tournament.
In her time at Old Dominion, Bickford has helped lead the Lady Monarchs to the conference semifinals on four different occasions, while also assisting the program in receiving the conference Freshman of the Year award three times. In 2014, senior Nika Khmolovska claimed the ITA's Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship.Bickford joined the Lady Monarchs after a three-year stint as an assistant coach at William and Mary. Bickford helped lead W&M to the CAA Championship in 2011 as the Tribe earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament. She was named the 2011 ITA Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
